Music execs were apparently worried Sam Smith would be caught in between the “worst hate sandwich in pop.’ The British singer stormed the Grammy Awards on Sunday night, walking away with four awards and cementing his status as one of the world’s biggest music stars. Many of his A-list friends were on hand on show their support, including alleged feuding pop stars Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. At an after show party it was Katy who was on hand to help Sam Smith celebrate his mammoth evening, with Taylor said to be noticeably absent. ‘Katy hugged and toasted Sam’s success with pals. They stayed together for about 45 minutes. Katy seemed delighted with his wins and kept hugging him,” a source divulged to New York Daily News’ Confidenti@l. ‘Taylor was expected at the bash but ducked away.
