Rockaway Beach, a brand new eclectic music festival, has confirmed the first wave of acts appearing at the three-day indoor event.
These include former Smiths man Johnny Marr, space rock icons Spiritualized, Liverpool legends Echo & The Bunnymen and a Mercury Prize winning band to be confirmed shortly.
The Fall and The Monochrome Set are among the many legendary rockers appearing at the hotly anticipated festival, while stellar new talent will come in the form of GhostPoet, Public Service Broadcasting and James Holden (Live).
Rockaway Beach is set to become a destination festival for those who truly love new music, and want to discover the legendary musicians of the future.
Taking place from 9-12 October at Butlin’s Bognor Regis, the event will give festival- lovers the chance to feed their love of music outside of the summer festival season and allow them to forget the usual mud and tents. Each set will take place in fantastic indoor venues that boast exceptional sound quality and the resort will give guests the best possible festival experience with great accommodation and food and drink choices close to the music.
‘Of course, many festival-goers are buying tickets because of the legends playing. Johnny Marr is a god-like genius in every sense of the word, a true icon of independent music. Echo & The Bunnymen and The Fall are two of our greatest legends of post-punk. But what’s special about all of these stars is that they are still creating, still being absolutely brilliant, and playing music. Rockaway Beach will be an intimate festival, allowing audience and artist to get close and share their love of music.’
Other acts confirmed so far include Pinkshinyultrablast, Whyte Horses, Cult of Dom Keller, The Telescopes, Lola Colt, St Deluxe, Matinee, The Band of Holy Joy, Skinny Girl Diet and Miaoux Miaoux.
Early bird tickets are on sale now for a limited period only and include accommodation and access to all live music venues. Snap them up so in years to come, you’ll be able to tell your friends that you were there for the first one!
