Music Mirror reflects on My Place in the Sun by Reevox

Reevox is a multifaceted band lead by composer Umberto de Martino accompanied by a team of friends including musicians, singers, graphic designers and producers known as Purple Age. Mainly influenced by 70’s rock, America’s West Coast radio sound and the 80 ‘s new wave sound from the UK, Reevox music combines a retro feel with contemporary electro pop. Reevox’s multi-faceted sound inherits a soulful and elegant pop inspired by greats such as Bowie, Pink Floyd, Prefab Sprout, Beck, ELO and Roxy Music, Neil Young, Steely Dan and Depeche Mode, which they infuse with a modern vision, inspired by MGMT, Phoenix, Boz Scaggs, Air, Archive, Radiohead, Fink and Air. Umberto was born in Belgium to a Russian mother and an Italian father. He grew up in Paris and as a teenager, he starts moving between NY and L.A, where he has lived for the last two years. The vast musical culture of the United States of America has led to Umberto to becoming a cosmopolitan musician and composer who adds his own brand of multi-cultural soul to his love of Anglo-Saxon pop. My Place In The Sun is out now in the U.K with distribution from Universal Music Operations. See the […]

Music Mirror with Falling Doves’ forthcoming releases and tours

Falling Doves formed in 2014 and comprise of old friends and professional touring musicians. Leyva started the band with an exhilarating brand of high octane rock and roll, topped with a pop edge that keeps the songs ringing in your ears long after the last strum has been played. Falling Doves are recognisable for their whiskey-laced vocals and lyrically confessional songs played with aggressive vigour. The four-piece is comprised of Christopher Leyva on vocals and guitar with Kyle Jordan Mueller on drums, Clint Feddersen on bass and Mike Dorsey on lead guitar. Although the songs are written by Christopher, all members of the band are involved in the creation of The Falling Doves’ sound from inception through to mastering. Christopher Leyva says the band members are not only friends who were around when he wrote the songs but also, “fans of my music and songwriting, which really comes across in the performance. They know all the lyrics and I can really set loose on a stage with them.” The band will be on the road for most of 2016, promoting their debut album, with a tour of Europe planned for this autumn and then another American tour. Christopher Leyva, originally […]

Giulio comes from Treviso, Italy, and has toured on guitar across China, Bosnia and Austria alongside Giorgio Barbarotta. Dan Bogo built his own drum-kit aged 7, so no surprise he became a professional drummer. He recently recorded with The Afterwards at Abbey Road Studios with the participation of Bill Bailey. Before moving to the UK, El Deyma’s first single, UFO, was selected to appear on the “Le Son du Transilien” disc (100000 copies). El Deyma were elected best band at the Bus Palladium in Paris for the year 2012.
