“Build our music as a storyboard”, declares El Deyma frontman Flo, “That’s how we compose, we share by fragment, it’s like a never-ending movement.” All three members of this London based rock band have an international background. Giulio comes from Treviso, Italy, and has toured on guitar across China, Bosnia and Austria alongside Giorgio Barbarotta. Dan Bogo built his own drum-kit aged 7, so no surprise he became a professional drummer. He recently recorded with The Afterwards at Abbey Road Studios with the participation of Bill Bailey. Topped The McCarrons’ sound is topped up with a splash of 90’s Britpop such as Ocean Colour Scene and Oasis, it’s a heady brew of sharply honed guitar pop made for today’s generation of cool young turks who don’t want to be told what to listen to by TV so called talent shows. With Drummer and Vocalist Andy Farrell completing the line-up, in 2012 The McCarrons set about recording their debut album ‘Whatever Next’. Mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Beady Eye, The Killers) the CD version of the album has been a real hit with their live following. April 6th will see the album available on all major digital platforms for the first time. Pop facts: Johnny Roxx Johnny Roxx’s single Just Wanna Dance features Jessie James who put vocals over a beat Roxx had created in under two hours. The production, mastering and video shoot for Just Wanna Dance was finished in two weeks while James was on a tour of Switzerland. Johnny Roxx started out in 1989 as hip-hop DJ Slice before he moved on to mixing rock with house or hip hop to create the tropical sound he is known for today. Already this year, Roxx has been nominated for the Swiss Nightlife Award 2014. The biggest dancehall producers in Switzerland, Weedy G Soundforce introduced the Johnny Roxx beat to Jessie James. The first hit single by Johnny Roxx was 2013’s Big Booty Gal. Roxx produces his music with a great vocal, such as vocal sample by a Jamaican artist, to which he’ll drop the track to create his tropical feel. Johnny’s own listening and inspiration include Iron Maiden, Bob Marley and the stylings of Diplo. Just Wanna Dance features four mixes, including house from Handbandits and a mix by Doobious. Roxx’s second single release is out on 17 February.
