Earworms. You hear that catchy song once and it’s stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
That’s what it was like in 1984 every time Animotion’s Obsession came on the radio. A number 6 hit in the U.S., it was the first of six singles that made the American charts between 1984 and 1989.
It was at the end of the 80’s that the band broke apart. Charles Ottavio and Astrid Plane were fired during the recording of their third album and Bill Wadhams left when the record label refused to let him continue to write songs for the band.
Over the years, there have been a few reunions for events and TV programs but it wasn’t until now that there has been a true reforming of the band. Wadhams and Plane along with two other original members, Don Kirkpatrick and Greg Smith, have recorded a brand new album, the first for the group since 1989’s Animotion (Room to Move) and the first that included all of these members since 1986’s Strange Behavior.
