Boy From the Crowd’s forthcoming EP

Anyone who fears that London’s bold musical heartbeat is faltering could be reassured by the recent arrival of The Boy From the Crowd on the scene. Inclinations The London-based rock duo comprises Vinny Piana and Vegas Ivy who formed The Boy From The Crowd when their musical inclinations collided in 2013. The pair shared musical influences from Robert Johnson and Howlin’ Wolf, Captain Beefheart and Jon Spencer. Vinny, born in the south of France, toured Europe and the UK with various bands and composed soundtracks for films, including a Sundance favourite LoveSexy. Then Vegas added his pounding voodoo drums to Vinny’s long-cherished new musical venture. Imperfections Summing up his take on their approach, Vinny says: “One of the things that makes rock ’n’ roll great is its little imperfections and riding on the edge of disaster, knowing full well that any second it could all just fall apart.” Their EP ‘Where the Bees Come to Die’, produced by Vinny and recorded in Maako studios, London, contains their first single Revelator, which is already receiving enthusiasm from the music press. Marathon Running Ex-Mod Grandfather Realises Musical Dream after Brain Tumour

James Pearce, 63, wastes no more time to launch his own career as a singer-songwriter after successful surgery to remove a brain tumour. James Pearce was once an apprentice upholsterer before becoming a Mod, riding a Lambretta Zoo SXSpecial and absorbing the music of the 60s and 70s, especially Johnny Duncan and The Blue Grass Boys. Singer Although a self-declared failed guitarist, James took to singing and ran a karaoke night with his brother John, whom James claims is the better singer. This resulted in James recording an album of covers of his favourite songs such as Johnny Duncan’s ‘Last Train to San Fernando’. In 2009 James penned his first song: “She Came Walking”. Happily married with two children, James is now a grandfather, which seems to be all the rage amongst Glastonbury’s headline performers. Dramatically   James’ life changed dramatically when he was diagnosed with a large brain tumour in the base of his skull, but this was successfully removed in 2011 by his hero and surgeon Richard Kerr. El Deyma Likened by Music Buffs to Top Indie Rock Contemporaries

“Build our music as a storyboard”, declares El Deyma frontman Flo, “That’s how we compose, we share by fragment, it’s like a never-ending movement.” All three members of this London based rock band have an international background. Flo used to live in Paris, New York and Prague, and has worked with artists including Dan Deacon, Mick Quinn from Supergrass and Turner Harrison. Giulio comes from Treviso, Italy, and has toured on guitar across China, Bosnia and Austria alongside Giorgio Barbarotta. Dan Bogo built his own drum-kit aged 7, so no surprise he became a professional drummer. He recently recorded with The Afterwards at Abbey Road Studios with the participation of Bill Bailey. Before moving to the UK, El Deyma’s first single, UFO, was selected to appear on the “Le Son du Transilien” disc (100000 copies). El Deyma were elected best band at the Bus Palladium in Paris for the year 2012.
