British pop artist Kuill has recently announced his new release, a rendition of the ’90s classic “Sleeping Satellite” by Tasmin Archer, which will be released on March 7th, 2025. As a pop singer and songwriter on the rise, Kuill has a knack for blending modern sounds with hints of the past, and his take on this classic hit is a perfect example. “Sleeping Satellite” by Tasmin Archer was a number-one hit in several countries after its release in 1992, and it’s still going strong all these years later! The original track stands out for its mellow, almost sombre quality, built on an acoustic arrangement with new-age synths and groove-driven drums. Its gentle mood and clear rhythm touched the hearts of many listeners at the time and continue to do so today. Kuill‘s version, on the other hand, has a brighter, punchier sound. The cover retains the heart of the original while adding the artist’s distinctive twist to the mix. In this rendition, a catchy staccato electric guitar provides extra rhythm and vibe, balanced by atmospheric suspended piano chords and electronic textures that fill the sound space. The electronic drums carry a contemporary R&B vibe, perfectly matching the overall arrangement and […]
David Arn’s What a Heart Must Do: A Song That Speaks to the Soul
In 2024, on his way to creating his fifth album, David Arn lost his voice. Never one to be discouraged, he began writing and producing songs for artists who could give voice to his words. Thus, Ventriloquism was born. His voice has partially recovered, but we now have a collection of songs performed by others in his latest release. In Arn’s words, “There are no artificial sweeteners or synthetic additives, only seasoned musicians and singers.” Some have performed at the Grand Ole Opry and on stages in England, Italy, and Russia. Now, they are lending their significant talent to Ventriloquism. The first single, “What a Heart Must Do,” is being released to all major streaming services in February 2025. The song is a heartfelt ballad performed by Kerri Hardwick, accompanied by the brilliant piano stylings of Arcangelo Trabucco and the string arrangement and orchestration of Maria Grig. Lyrically, it is about a bond that is stronger than any other—the one between mother and child. The style is a bit of a departure from Arn’s previous work. He calls it “classical folk rock.” Arn set words to the hymn tune St. Columba for Four-Octave Carillon and incorporated parts of Gustav Holst’s […]
Lena Matienko’s Forgive Me: A Symphony of Vulnerability and Longing
Forgive Me is the beautiful, melodic and haunting new single from ‘Lena Matienko‘. Lena Matienko’s latest single, Forgive Me, is a deeply introspective piece that explores themes of unexpressed love, emotional restraint, and the walls people build to protect themselves. Raised in Eastern Europe within a traditional family where vulnerability was often discouraged, Matienko learned to suppress her emotions, a struggle that later found its way into her music. In Forgive Me, she delves into the experience of feeling overwhelmed by love and passion but lacking the courage to voice these emotions. The song encapsulates the pain of self-imposed isolation—pushing people away out of fear, only to realize too late how much they truly meant. With her signature blend of orchestral and electronic elements, Matienko creates an immersive and emotionally charged listening experience, inviting audiences into a world of longing and reflection. ‘Forgive Me’ is taken from her melodic and ethereal E.P ‘Cosmic Dust’. ‘Lena Matienko‘ is a screen composer specialising in the emotive and magical, with a rich background in classical training, shaping her into a multifaceted artist capable of traversing various musical genres. She creates interactive soundscapes for immersive experiences showcased in museums across Australia and composes film […]
