Margarita Shamrakov is a singer/songwriter/producer who started to play music in Ukraine. At 17 she immigrated to the US, because of hardship only to be all on her own in the US. Margarita feels very lonely even now after many years in the U.S. 2001 Margarita Shamrakov won the John Lennon songwriting contest and was about to get a record deal. However everything fell through. And she was all alone again working different jobs to make ends meet. In 2006 she met Mike Anzel– producer and engineer who collaborated with Margarita on the album ‘Tragedy’ Again, labels took interest , however nothing worked out again. Currently, Margarita is living in NYC and raising her daughter Kiki and a dog Marshall. She is writing, recording and producing all her music by herself. Music Mirror reflects on Rene Byrd’s Never Never Never featuring John Holt

Rene Byrd started her musical career as a singer songwriter by participating in numerous talent contests inter-college competition based in London, which nurtured stars including Daniel and Natasha Bedingfield. Then, aged 14, she joined a band as a backup vocalist. Rene is third generation West Indian and she comes from a religious and musical background. Her father was a music producer and her uncle is a Gospel singer known as Bishop John Francis who had a gospel TV show broadcasted on Channel 4 called People Get Ready. Francis’ choir sang once for Queen Elizabeth at the Royal Variety Show. Rene recalls: ‘it was a regular occurrence to see my uncle on TV and he inspired me to sing. His voice is amazing!’ Her most vivid memory as a young child was being side-stage at an open-air concert in London watching Sade, Sting and Tracey Chapman perform which blew her away. The Zacas is an acoustic folk duo originating from South Africa’s capital Pretoria, consisting of brothers Luigi on vocals with Salva Zaca on guitar. Their new E.P entitled “I me” was recorded at Undahouse Studios in South Africa and features the acoustic single “Bored With Me”. These recordings harness the melodic and instrumental beauty of an acoustic arrangement and suit the personal nature of the songs. Passion The Zacas describe their music as “…going back to the roots of acoustic music, representing who we are, our identity and our passion for a raw acoustic singer-songwriter style music”. Salva studied classical music at Pro Arte Alphen Park and became a renowned classical guitarist in South Africa. His influences include Miles Davis who he grew to love while studying Jazz at Tshwane University of Technology. Design Luigi studied Architecture and design and was trained for Opera before discovering a passion for jazz and rock through his biggest influence, Myles Kennedy. Samantha Durnan from the North East of England releases her first single, already praised by BBC Introducing and Radio 1 for her voice, acoustic and alternative rock band arrangements. Donna HineZ, 26, was the born in Greenwich, south east London, the youngest of 3 sisters to Jamaican parents and raised nearby in Catford. Mancunian songwriter JazFreddy Royal has produced a new club anthem “Samba! Samba!” to raise money for international children’s charity UNICEF themed on the 2014 World Cup being held in Rio. The “Foe We All Miss You” singer managed to persuade Benedict Farr and Steve Oliver, managers at the National Football Museum and the manager of That’s Entertainment to support the fundraising by selling his song through their outlets.  Farr says: “This is the second time, we have worked with JazFreddy, and we are impressed with his professionalism and dedication.” JazFreddy performed his single “Foe, We All Miss You” to a Manchester City Stadium packed with 48,000 fans and donated all proceeds to the late Marc Vivien Foe’s dream to build a school for young footballers in Yaoundé, Cameroon’s capital city.
