Oasis frontman Liam signs to Warner Music

In the past, Liam Gallagher has said that he wouldn’t release a solo album because “I’m not a c**t.” Liam was asked to join the group Rain in 1991. Changing their name to Oasis, they soon added Liam’s older brother Noel to the lineup and, with their album Definitely Maybe, became one of the biggest artists to come out of England in years. Liam and Noel were constantly at odds and the band finally broke up in 2009 with Liam going on to form the band Beady Eye. The group released two albums, both of which went top 3 in the U.K. It was in January that Gallagher officially ruled out any solo work with a Tweet containing the rationalization above. Fast forward to today with the announcement that Liam has signed with Warner Brothers records and will release his first solo album next year. Warner Brothers’ Phil Christie said “Liam’s one of the all-time greats – brilliant, distinctive, controversial and captivating. The album he’s currently recording is big, bold and heartfelt, and it feels important and culturally relevant. Such a strong return for one of the UK’s most loved artists.” Gallagher said in a press release “Very excited to […]
