Tell us about your new single ‘Stress’, What is it about ? and why have you taken a brand new direction with your music ? “Stress” is about being in a toxic relationship and finally coming to terms with the fact you gotta get out. It’s about a relationship that’s one sided. Where your working harder than your partner to maintain the love, and you feel stuck. I’ve definitely been there. I don’t think I’ve completely changed my sound, I’m just building on top of it. I’ve taken a lot of time over the past few months to work with the pop/rock teams in Nashville and my mind is just opening up musically. I will still release some classic Icy sounding songs, but for my first release in awhile, with a new team, I wanted to come out with something undeniable that shows more of me. C.h.a.mp is a Mesquite, Texas native and solidified Texan. His artist name is an acronym for, “Change Happens at My Pace.’‘ He came up with the name before he had the idea of being a rap artist. While in the hospital after being shot in the head, he continually told himself, “ Change Happens at My Pace.” It wasn’t until he decided to make music, that he realized this phrase was an acronym for C.h.a.m.p. He further placed periods in between each letter, to give more emphasis to each word. So far, he has released 2 EPs (Paper Route and YOLO) totaling 12 songs and has a full length album (Therapy) coming in October/November that will entail his roller coaster life story, while also giving his usual turn up vibe. Born and raised in the South Bronx, Jevaugn grew within a robust culture that not only nurtured his growth, but inspired his vision for the music he currently crafts. Underground and personal, but open to those who also give it time. The theme of All We Got is This articulates how black America is forced to cope with their oppression with minimal and further crippling resources.
